Community Outreach

Engaging the Community through Wildlife Education

RMCC is deeply committed to fostering a stronger connection between people and wildlife through its community outreach initiatives. One of the most impactful programs the organization offers is its educational collaboration with Front Range Community College (FRCC). This partnership provides students with the opportunity to learn about the conservation of wild cats and the critical role they play in maintaining ecosystem balance. Through this program, RMCC offers specialized courses and workshops that cover topics such as habitat preservation, the biology and behavior of wild cats, and the challenges these species face in the wild. This partnership not only provides valuable knowledge to students but also encourages the next generation of conservationists to take an active role in protecting wildlife.

In addition to its educational efforts at FRCC, the RMCC plays an integral role in educating the broader community through its Wildlife Seminars. These seminars are designed to raise awareness about the conservation challenges facing mountain lions in Colorado. Hosted at various community centers, libraries, and local venues, the seminars cover a wide range of topics, from the natural history of native mountain lions to the importance of sustainable coexistence between humans and wildlife.

The seminars also serve as a platform for the RMCC to highlight the successes and challenges of their ongoing conservation projects. By sharing their firsthand experiences in wildlife management and conservation efforts, the RMCC helps the community understand the importance of supporting conservation initiatives through both volunteer work and donations. These initiatives are not only shaping the future of conservation in the region but also helping to cultivate a deep respect for wildlife that will be passed down through generations.
