Rocky Mountain Cat Conservancy Lectures

RMCC is dedicated to educating students of all levels about the importance of wildlife conservation, with a particular focus on wild cats and their role in ecosystems. Through engaging lectures, RMCC provides students from K-12, community colleges, and universities with valuable insights into wildlife ecology, conservation, and the critical role of predators in maintaining healthy ecosystems. These lectures help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world conservation challenges, fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

RMCC emphasizes the importance of wildlife conservation by discussing the threats facing wild cat populations and other species. Students learn about habitat loss and human-wildlife conflicts. The lectures highlight need for innovative approaches to mitigating human population growth and subsequent encroachment upon what are often marginal wildlife populations.

A major focus of RMCC’s educational outreach is teaching about the value of predators on the landscape. Predators, such as mountain lions and bobcats, play a vital role in regulating prey populations and maintaining ecosystem health. in the classroom and in the field students learn about the vital role of predators to ecosystems and in their value in shaping human concern for all wild creatures.
