In addition to our on-the-ground cat research efforts, we routinely utilize the public to help us track mountain lions and record their behaviors, particularly in areas where wildlife habitat is adjacent to human development.
We frequently receive calls and notification from Rocky Mountain National Park staff about lion sightings. This information is important to our overall data collection efforts for tracking cats that require large expanses of land for their survival.
You can help us with this aspect of our research and data collection by reporting any lion that you may have seen. Below is a link to our sightings form that will help you determine if you saw a lion and includes the location and other important information for our assessment and database. Please download and save this form and email it to chamois@catconservancy.org. We will follow-up on the sighting and provide updates on lion sightings by the public on our Web site. This is a new program for RMCC and we really appreciate your help!
